Choosing motor bearings is like finding the "heart" for the motor

Choosing motor bearings is like finding the "heart" for the motor

2025-06-17

I recently met a friend who works in an electric motor factory. He was very upset. They had chosen low-priced bearings because they were greedy for cheapness. As a result, the production workshop was like a supermarket just half a year after the motor was put into production. The bearings made a clanging sound when they turned, and the vibration was so strong that it could loosen the screws. There were even cases where the bearings were stuck and the motors smoked directly. The purchasing manager was chased and scolded by the boss every day, and the assembly master was so tired that he sighed. The maintenance cost and downtime loss added up to several times more than the little money saved on the bearings.
Later, they found us and found out where the problem was. Ordinary bearings are not accurate enough and are prone to wear after running for a long time. The lubrication design is unreasonable, and the grease loses quickly at high temperatures, so the noise is naturally loud. In addition, the material is not up to standard, and it can't withstand high-speed operation at all. Kent bearings can achieve P5/P6 level accuracy and a unique silent structure. Take 6201 for example, we can control it within 23 decibels. The special heat treatment process allows the bearings to run stably for 30,000 hours at a high speed of 10,000 revolutions. If you do the math, you will know that although the unit price of ordinary bearings seems to be lower, on the production line, the yield rate plummets because the bearing accuracy does not meet the standard and the motor vibration exceeds the standard. Customers keep complaining because the bearings are too noisy, which seriously affects the user experience. Not to mention frequent rework, which not only delays delivery, but also wastes real money. In fact, many motor factories are repeating this lesson: they always want to use low-priced bearings to reduce costs, but are finally dragged down by high hidden costs. Choosing bearings is like finding a "heart" for a motor. Cheap ones may look fine at first, but over time, all kinds of problems will emerge. Is the "heart" of the motors you produce still healthy?
